Picture from the hail storm on June 30th.

Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and torrential rain.

Thunderstorms developing this afternoon over Southwest Alberta will move slowly to the North and Northeast. These slow moving thunderstorms could create localized flash flooding and could potentially produce large hail. These thunderstorms will likely persist into the evening.

Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
