Okotoks Thomas Schneider has thrown his hat into the ring in the UCP nomination race in the Livingstone-Macleod riding.

Thomas says he's come into the race a little later than his competitors, Roger Reid out of Claresholm and High River's Justin Murphy, but it shouldn't be an issue.

"It's one of those things were I'm hoping to peak and hoping to kind of catch attention at the right time. Yeah, they started a couple of months ago, there's no denying that. But it's one of those things that there's an energy and drive here that I'm trying to get across and trying to work on. And I don't anticipate it to be a giant roadblock, let's put it that way."

Schneider's been in the Foothills for the last six years since moving here from Cranbrook, B.C.

He previously worked with the Canadian Taxpayers Federation and has been a small business owner.
