Santa Claus is coming to town!

Watch for the Okotoks Emergency Services Christmas Eve Parade coming through Okotoks on Dec. 24.

The parade starts at 5:00 p.m. at the Fire Station on Milligan Dr.

Ken Thevenot, Okotoks Fire Chief, says they've been planning the parade with Santa to make sure it goes off without a hitch.

"This year we've been in contact with Santa, he was telling us that Mrs. Claus can't make it this year for the parade, but again we'll house the reindeer for him while he's doing the parade for three hours."

Residents are encouraged to come out and say hello to Santa when he makes his stop in Okotoks before taking off to deliver gifts across the world throughout the night.

"We hope to see everybody and hopefully the weather will be in our favour. It's always a great time when you see the smiling faces and the kids run out with no shoes on and the parents are after the kids, it's always funny to see those smiles and the kids coming out to give Santa a big wave."

Thevenot says he's excited to celebrate the holidays with Okotoks once again.

"This will be my ninth parade, I look forward to it, it just doesn't seem like its Christmas until we get that parade up and running."
