The Salvation Army is working hard to get their Christmas Toy Drive in gear early this season.

Captain Corey Fifield says it's simply a matter of having the resources they need early enough to ensure it's a Merry Christmas for those in need.

"If we can get those toys up front, then that really helps us move through those hampers and get them packed. Otherwise we end up in that position where we've got hampers for certain age groups, and we go, we're going to have to wait or look for some other options. We'll be there ready to receive your toys."

Fifield says their toy collection bins will remain out in the community right up until Christmas, but getting them filled now would make sure the toys get to the boys and girls this Christmas.
