Okotoks residents will be putting on their cowboy boots for the 25th Annual Okotoks Pro Rodeo this weekend.

The rodeo kicks off on Friday at the Okotoks Recreation Centre and runs through to Sunday with tons of events like veterans night, the Magic Rodeo, and a dance.

Trevor Reidy, marketing director for the rodeo, says the Magic Rodeo, which runs on Saturday, is a special event for kids.

"It starts at 11, kids can come down and talk to cowboys and have lunch, we've got a bucking barrel in there and they can just have a good time with their parents."

He adds that on Friday night everyone is encouraged to come wearing red to show their support for veterans.

Saturday night at 9:30 a dance with live music from country artist Drew Gregory will be taking place at the Okotoks Curling Rink. Admission is $10.

Reidy says ticket pricing for the rodeo hasn't changed in over a decade.

"On Friday night we have what we call Kids Day, so your rodeo tickets for a family of two adults and two kids is $60, that's $15 a ticket. Our regular ticket prices are $20 and $15 for standing room. We haven't changed our rodeo ticket price for about 11 years, we don't plan on doing any changes in the future either."

Start time for the rodeo on Friday and Saturday is 7:00 p.m. with the Magic Rodeo starting at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. On Sunday events get rolling at noon.
