The Rotary Club of Okotoks held their second annual Lobster Boil on Saturday night.

The proceeds from the event are going to support various Rotary youth programs.

One specific program the funds are going to support, is the Rotary Long-term Youth Exchange.

This program sends 20 youth from Southern Alberta out to various countries, while bringing 20 students from those countries here.

The youth are generally between the ages 15 to 17, and continue to go to school in their excahnge country.

Jeff MacFarlane, coordinator with the program, says it's a great time for the youth who participate.

"Over the course of their travels, the youth stay with 3 or 4 host families, and get to learn a new language and culture."

If you would like more information on the program you can send an email to 'Youth Service' through the Rotary Club of Okotoks website.
