Okotokians looking to get around town on Saturday morning might run into a few delays.

The 7th annual Natural High Triathlon will be taking place, with 250 racers, and 120 volunteers lining the streets in Okotoks.

Andrew Gustafson, Owner of Natural High Fitness, says this year there is a new road closure to accommodate the race.

"Highway 2A, so Northridge drive starting at Milligan, and all the way out the Hebson Arena where Big Sky BBQ is, 306 Ave, we're going to close the right lane. It's not a closure so people can still get by, but it'll be a little bit backed up, and the speed will be reduced to 60 km/h instead of 100 km/h for that entire length. So if you're going out of town of Highway 2A you're going to be a little slowed down there."

Gustafson says the biggest closure for the triathlon is North bound 32nd St. From Seaman Stadium all the way to 7/11, he says motorists will have to find an alternate route.

"If you're trying to get from Mcalpine Crossing all the way up to Drake Landing, you're going to want to go over to 48th or come a bit west to Crystal Ridge Dr."

South bound 32nd St. will not be affected.

He shares the closures should last from 9:30 a.m. to about 11:00 a.m., which could change depending on how fast the racers go.

"It depends on how fast the bikers go, we're going to open it up as quick as we can, but it is going to be a disruption for that hour , hour and a half that morning."

Gustafson says he'd like to see the whole community enjoy the charity barbeque, watch the race, cheer everyone on and enjoy.

The Natural High Triathlon is a fundraiser for KidSport.
