Okotoks RCMP are looking to identify the suspect involved in the assault of a youth in the Cimarron Vista neighbourhood.

Allegedly on Saturday, a 16-year-old girl was letting her family's dog outside of their home when the suspect surprised her and held a knife to her throat before taking off.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his early to mid 20's and was wearing dark jeans, a Blue Jays hat, red jacket, blue runners, and has chin length blonde hair and green eyes.

It's been reported the girl was taken to hospital for treatment and is now home recovering.

Investigation is ongoing.
