Construction of Nanton's Waste Water Treatment Plant earlier this year

 

The governments of Alberta and Canada have gotten together to fund some major water and wastewater projects.

Alberta's Municipal Affairs Minister Deron Bilous says development of critical infrastructure helps build stronger communities.

Fifty-six infrastructure projects across Alberta received funding under the Building Canada plan's "Small Communities Fund".

The Town of Nanton will gets $12-million for its wastewater treatment plant.

The Foothills M.D. receives $5-million for the Millarville water supply project and the Village of Longview gets $1,70,486 for Phase II of its water treatment plant upgrades.
