The province's Summer Temporary Employment Program, or STEP is back again this year.

Labour Minister Christina Gray says last year about 2,700 students and 1,200 employers took advantage of the program.

She says they've made a couple of administrative changes to help employers.

"One change is a simplified application form that allows employers to apply for funding for multiple STEP students without having submit multiple applications," Minister Gray says."This will make sure employers can spend more time with their STEP students and less time doing paperwork."

The program's available  to help small businesses and non-profits, public libraries, school boards, publicly funded post-secondary institutions, municipalities hire the people they need.

Employers interested in hiring a student for 2017 are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Applications must be submitted before the Feb. 24, 2017 deadline.
