The Alberta Electoral Boundaries Commission has released its report and if the recommendations are adopted local ridings would change.

In Highwood it's recommended that the western boundary be moved west to the B.C. border, adding Turner Valley and Black Diamond to Okotoks.

The resulting population is 45,431, 3% below the provincial average.

In Livingstone-Macleod the boundaries would be expanded south to include Waterton.

The riding would start at the most southwest point in the province, go north to the southern boundary of Banff National Park, then east to include High River and Longview.

The commission says the changes would reduce the physical size of the constituency, aligning it in a north-south direction, while raising its population
closer to the provincial average.

The public can still respond to the commissions recommendations in writing or by making a presentation the week of July 17, 2017.
