It won't be long now before the new school in Davisburg will have name.

The Christ The Redeemer School Division has narrowed a large list of suggestions down to nine different choices,

Communications Coordinator Cindy Ballance says the names range from a number of historic figures.

"They included the names of Pope Francis, St. Francis of Assisi, Father Lacombe and St. Anne's and there were nine of them and we're going to narrow that down at our Name Our New School event," she says.

The event will be held November 25th at Good Sheppard School, where Ballance says the name will go through a voting process.

"At that time we're going to have participants vote on their favourite names and then we'll have them narrow it down again to the Top 3 choices," she says. "Those choices will then go to our board of trustees meeting on November 28th."

Ballances says anyone interested in casting their vote for the school is eligible to do so.

"Its open to parents and student who want to come out to our event," she says. "It's mostly for people who are invested in the new school and are going to be attending, staff who even want to come out can have their input as well."
