Drake Landing was the place to be on Saturday, as crowds from all over town came together for fun in the sun.

Event M.C. Julia Wolf says there was so much more to the day then the theatrical performance of Princess and the Peach, by the Goodger Pink Family Theater.

"There was a huge variety of entertainment for everyone. The day started off with a Michela Sheedy performance, then it went to a Zumba class with Tamara Boivin." Wolf adds,  "Maria Zimmerman also took the stage and  Micheal the Magician, who has performed in Vegas, and he taught the audience some magic tricks."

Even local charities and not for profits got in on the day.

Wolf says many had booths set up accepting donations or taking part in the day somehow as well.

"There was also many other organizations like the Okotoks Arts Council, they had a big canvas there where they were inviting everyone who went to go ahead and paint on it, and it became just this huge group painting."

Apart from a lovely theater performance, Wolf says the best part was seeing everyone enjoy their community together.

"It was amazing to see everyone just pile in to Drake Landing, and just getting together from all over town.  It started out as a bit cloudy but then everyone just came in and warmed up the day, it was so nice."
