It's not hard to spot someone stopping to collect experience points and items on the hit app Pokémon Go in Okotoks.

With numerous Poké Stops downtown, some businesses are embracing the increased presence at their stores - in and outside of them.

One of those businesses is Monkey Mountain Toys & Games and employee Krista Hunt says there's definitely a craze of Pokéfans out there and they've been respectful to the business.

"I wouldn't say there's been a disturbance. We've definitely have had an influx of kids looking for Pokémon cards which is a big help," she says. "They do tend to hang out, outside the store sometimes, so we're hoping they come in and sometimes they don't which is a little disappointing, but not necessarily disturbing."

Hunt says staff have offered incentives to keep Pokémon Go players coming inside the store.

"We've also even downloaded the app on a few of our phones so that we can set lures every once in a while to help bring down to the store, and they seem to appreciate it."

Poké Stops reload every five minutes, which gives patrons an opportunity to come into the store and see what Monkey Mountain has available to entice their leisure activities and Hunt says they have seen an increase in business since the app launched.

"A lot of our novelty stuff, Bean-Boozled Jelly Beans are really popular right now, and they come in and notice we have those and very often will leave with some of them and lots of other things like yo-yos and things like that they tend to pick up."
