Live music is back in Olde Towne Plaza this summer.

Picnic at the Piano kicked off for a fourth season last week and residents are encouraged to bring their lunch and a blanket or chair while they enjoy live performances by local musicians on the Town's outdoor piano.

Allan Boss, Culture and Heritage Manager for the Town of Okotoks, says the events attract a wide variety of people.

"Well received is a good way to put it, it is a popular event for town folk. We get lots of families come out, young moms and dads come with their kids, a lot of retired folk, and anybody who's working downtown. They bring a lunch and sit and enjoy a concert for an hour."

Boss says he's already looking forward to the next performance.

"The next performer is going to be a guy named Sheldon Zandboer. This will be his third year back. He is a fabulous player and he takes requests from the audience and plays any song. An amazing performer, he's played for the queen before."

The next Picnic at the Piano is scheduled for June 27 at noon.
