High River RCMP are reminding parents of the dangers of leaving children or pets hot vehicles after an incident Friday, May 5.

Mounties were called to a scene where a one year old and a three year old were left in a car with the windows cracked.

The outside temperature was only 21 degrees, but it was 40 degrees in the car and the children were in distress.

Police were able to force open a window and get the children out.

Both the kids were ok, after being checked over by EMS, but police are reminding parents that temperatures can become dangerously hot and children and pets can't be left alone.

There's no word on charges.
