14 Foothills families spent the holidays with full stomachs thanks to Baby It's Cold Outside's Christmas Fixin's Feast program.

Pamela Morgan, BCO Founder and President, says over 80 individuals were provided a Christmas meal through the program.

"It broke down to 82 people all together, and if we take that another step further that was 26 children under the age of 13, so it was just phenomenal how many people had reached out."

Morgan says this year's program was rewarding, from the initial phone call to the family, right up to the delivery of the food.

"There's so many touching stories volunteers have shared, six year olds coming to the door and taking the turkey and thanking them. We were given a beautiful Christmas card by a little girl thanking them for giving them Christmas dinner this year. It's really difficult to put into words the feeling short of your heart doubles in size."

BCO is humbled by the support received from businesses owners in Okotoks, with Fountain Tire and Chatters Salon both contributing to the cause.

Morgan shares BCO also received an anonymous cash donation from what she calls "Christmas angels."

She'd also like to thank Sobeys, and the many volunteers who brought the Christmas spirit to the families, adding she's proud to live in a community with a big heart.

"People are really aware of who lives next door, that's the wonder of Foothills, we know who lives next door. We know somebody needs a hand up and we need to be very, very proud of ourselves in this community that we have such awareness of that."

BCO is hoping to grow the Christmas Fixin's Feast program once again in 2018.
