Parents in Okotoks can rest assured their children are getting quality care at the Okotoks School Age Care Program.

The Town's already licensed program recently received accreditation.

Jenn Wakely, Recreational Programmer for Children, says the accreditation helps to ease parents minds.

"Our accreditation is just a way for parents to know that out of school care or day care is working towards best practices within our field so it can be for anything from the way we light our spaces to how we talk to the kids."

Wakely says this new highlight on their resume will help them down the road.

"It's a great way for our program to look at ourselves and look at what we do currently and then look at ways to make our program better for the future and create goals to make it a great place for the kids to be."

Registration for the 2016-2017 school year is open and families are still able to register.

The program gets kids involved with nature on the way to and from school and has weekly crafts and sports and helps with homework.
