New information about the collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Big Rock Trail from Wednesday has been released by the RCMP.

Sgt. Sukh Randhawa says the vehicle struck a pedestrian while passing a vehicle on the windy road.

"The vehicle was a 1998 Toyota Corolla, which was traveling west bound with a single occupant." Randhawa shares "The vehicle was passing another vehicle traveling west bound when they struck the pedestrian, who was a 51 year old male from Manning, AB."

The pedestrian involved succumbed to his injuries, while the driver of the Toyota was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries after their vehicle rolled and landed on the roof.

Currently no charges have been laid while the RCMP Vehicle Collision Analyst is still investigating the accident.
