Okotoks RCMP conducted a check last week to make sure residents are leaving their vehicles locked.

On Thursday they ventured to three different areas in town and checked about 80 vehicles.

Of those vehicles, 21 were left unlocked with valuables inside.

Some of those items include radar detectors, GPS systems, keys, garage door openers, purses, and money.

Police say one home even had their garage door open with valuables left accessible inside.

As always, RCMP are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and make sure all valuables from inside are removed.
