The Okotoks Oilers and the Okotoks Food Bank will be teaming up in order to help with the Food Bank's Christmas Hamper Program.

Oilers Business Manager and Billet Coordinator Dawn LeMaistre says they've got a big order they're hoping to fill for the next couple of games.

"We are hoping to 'Stuff The Truck' Okotoks GM has donated a vehicle for our coach James Poole to drive around for the season and we're going to park that truck in the lobby in Pason Centennial Arena in hopes that our fans can assist us with stuffing the truck with food banks items for us to donate to the Okotoks Food Bank," she says.

Fans will have a couple of chances to donate to the food bank this week says LeMaistre.

"The food drive will take place over the next two game nights tonight (Thursday) we play host to the Brooks Bandits at 7 p.m. and tomorrow night against the Calgary Canucks at 7 p.m. we're hoping to fill the truck doors open, back open and be able to deliver it to the food bank this weekend so they can utilized the items for the Christmas hamper rush." she says.

She adds the list doesn't have to be just food items as well.

"We're looking for items like baking needs including sugar or flour, rice, peanut butter and jam. Looking for condiments and always the stuff we forget about the personal hygiene products paper towel, kleenex, laundry soap, dish soap, cleaning supplies and diapers for the little ones,"LeMaistre says.

If you'd like to make a monetary donation to the Food Bank LeMaistre says the hockey club will be able to take those donations as well over the next two game nights.
