A 16-year-old Okotoks Amateur Motorcross Racer is shooting for the stars and following his dreams.

Rylan Bly has been riding since he was four years old and may have an opportunity to participate race he's been aiming for since he was a child, the Loretta Lynn's USA National Motocross Championship in Tennessee.

Bly shares he's been been to multiple qualifiers in the past for the prestigious race.

"The first big one was when I was 11, we went a did our first Loretta Qualifier, and I got second place at the area qualifier, then I went to Regionals in California and I would have done better but I wasn't prepared for the heat and the track. A couple years after that when I was almost 15, we tried again for Loretta's and I got fifth at the Area Qualifier which is pretty good because I was in a more skilled class."

He shares this year he feels like he'll find the most success, after just winning overall at the first round of qualifiers in Southern California a few weeks ago.

Bly will now head to the second qualifier in Temecula, California, May 19, he's hoping the community will rally around him in his journey to the race.

"It's very expensive to race, travel costs, and bike parts, and we're fundraising so I can go back down to Regional's and hopefully qualify for the actual Loretta Lynn's in Tennessee which would be a big accomplishment."

He adds if he wins the Loretta Lynn's he'll have a chance of walking away with a fully sponsored professional contract, negating the need for any fundraising.

"If you do well at the Loretta's and you catch somebody's eye, they'll more than likely sponsor you, and you'll have a ride for the coming years."
