If you're thinking of camping in Okotoks this weekend, you're best off pitching a tent in your backyard.

The Okotoks Lions Campground is full for the May Long, with all 55 full service sites, and 6 tent sites booked up.

Pauline Krause, Lions Campground Manager, says they campground has had a great start to the season.

"Our first three weekends have been full since we opened the doors May 1, very seldom on a weekend are we empty or have vacany, so its great."

She shares that although it may seem odd to some to camp in your own town, there's tons of people who do it.

"If you went around you would find there are a lot of Okotokians in the campground, one of our ex mayors is here, he's come up from Red Deer and he comes every year. Everybody comes here, it's just a nice quiet little place to be."

The George Lane Park in High River campground also has no vacancies this weekend.
