The numbers are out for the 2015 residential lots purchased for the Town of Okotoks.

Permit and Assessment Manager for the Town, Rob Mueller says the Town issued 179 single detached dwellings and two duplexes which fell short of the forecast of 250 single detachments that were budgeted for the start of last year.

Mueller says the downturn in the economy may have some influence in the lower than expected numbers.

"It was a slow start to the year with a very positive and active 2nd quarter, it started to decline in the 3rd quarter then the 4th declined slightly less to end the year at those total results," he says.

Mueller says the new sub-divisions saw most of the action when it came to lot purchases.

"We found that Mountainview was the most active sub-division within 2015 with 68 single family housing starts, 2nd was the Drake Landing and Air Ranch area was another 31 starts with Cimarron ending with 21 starts."
