The Okotoks & District Chamber of Commerce named five new members to their executive last week.

Pamela Ollenberger (Dewdney Players), Dawn LeMaistre (Okotoks Oilers Junior 'A' Hockey Club), Harlene Day (Mosby Insurance), Richard Milliken (The Growth Coach) and  Warren Carriere (Alberta Construction Rentals) will join the remaining members currently sitting on the board.

LeMaistre says she looking forward to working close with the chamber and local businesses.

"The Chamber of Commerce is a great avenue for local businesses and individuals just to get an opportunity to grow their business as well as their personal growth," she says. "I think for the Oilers it's just going to give us that ability to become more involved in the community and create some more awareness about the great product we have."

LeMaistre says the Oilers involvement relying on the support of community business they wanted to give back and help others promote their business.

"The Oilers are looking to bring as many chamber members out to our event and also hoping to help them if there's grand openings and different things like that we can help support with, we're hoping to help those business to generate awareness for their business along with ours."

The chamber has over 400 businesses in its membership and LeMaistre says if you want to be successful in the community when it comes to business, the chamber is a great helping hand in achieving it.

"If you want people to know about you and you're looking to expand your business or generate new business. The chamber is the place to go and the executive along with the board of directors is going to whatever they can to help promote all businesses to the best of our ability."
