With the weekend temperatures into the 30's the again, water conservation is vital for Okotoks.

The town is reminding residents once again to be water wise.

CAO Rick Quail says the town is running at three times it's normal water consumption.

"We're in another warm-hot spell," he says. "Water demand is quickly approaching our production capacity."

Quail says despite the message by the town, most residents abide by the watering schedules and hopes they will keep up the good work.

"We're just asking our citizens to be really water wise, and to make sure you follow watering guidelines, and make sure you don't waste any water."

The town in a released statement says their working closely with EPCOR to monitor water levels and asks the town to voluntarily reduce outdoor watering.

Quail says it's important to follow the watering schedule and not drop the town's supply of water.

"The daily water consumption is about three times our normal water consumption during the winter months," he says. The challenge we're facing right now is production capacity.
