No reason for local farmers to push the panic button yet, when it comes to spring seeding.

Vulcan County Fieldman Kelly Malmberg says there's no doubt this extension of Winter weather will push Spring seeding into May, but farmers will be able to get at it soon enough.

"We've still got time. We've got the whole month of April to thaw out for farming. It's an unusual year, but here in Vulcan County, you know we went into the Winter really dry. So, I think most guys would be happy to see this recharge our water table."

He says it's beef producers he feels sorry for right now, who are trying to calve in bitter cold and wet conditions.
