With snow starting to accumulate and outdoor rinks are busy with skaters of all shapes and sizes, that means only one thing to kids and the kid inside of us... get the toboggan!

The Town of Okotoks has plenty of hills able to meet your toboggan needs this winter.

Parks Manager Christa Michailuck says you should go to the ones deemed adequate by the Town.

"There six different sites that we've identified that are suitable for tobogganing in town, and we ask that resident please stick to these sites and not pick additional sites for the reason that we do regularly inspect the sites."

Michailuck says the hills to use are all within close distance of communities around Okotoks.

"Cimarron Park, Cedargrove Grove, Drake Landing Drive's Soccer Park, Henderson Park and Kinsmen Park in the bowl area only and Wathen Park."

Michailuck reminds all of those sharing the hills to be safe.

"We encourage helmet use on toboggan hills and outdoor rinks, Parks staff will come out and assess those toboggan hills and may remove jumps that are considered unsafe, it can be a surprise for a young child or their parents for them to take a large jump that they couldn't see was there."
