Okotoks Dawgs baseball is quickly approaching and a new HD video board will make the season that much more action packed.

Seaman Stadium has been installed with a new HD board that is 40% bigger than the old screen.

Seaman Stadium sign before video installation.

Dawgs Operations Manager Ryan Van Keulen says everyone is ecstatic about the new board.

"The video board got installed last week, we had it fully functional as of Sunday, so now we are just waiting for camera to get in so we can play around with that. It's an exciting time all board directors are excited, the staff are excited, it's a lot of fun once it gets going and hopefully the fans are just as excited as we are."

Van Keulen says it's a huge upgrade for the fans.

"It's a high definition video board so we can do video with sound this year. We can do player interviews, play videos more, we will also be able to have the line up on the board for fans to see which is a feature we have never had before...So it's going to be a huge experience and a huge upgrade for the fans."

The Dawgs Association also hopes to add more features for this season Van Keulen says, "this year we are hoping to install a kiss cam and an oblivious cam so fans will be able to get their pictures up on the board which is something we haven't been able to do in years past. We are hoping to bring in instant replay and video replay probably within the next three to five years, its not something we've been able to accomplish this year but something in the future we will be able to bring in."
