Thanks to a grant from the Canada-150 Program the Vulcan Legion has a brand new mural along their south wall.

It replaces the old fading one that was painted back in 1999.

Legion President Heather Shopka says they actually went back to that artist who painted the original 17 years ago, and between her and the Legion Executive decided on a theme.

"Of course this picture she had painted was shown to the executive, and we all agreed that this would be what we wanted. It showed Canada's participation through the ages."

The mural is actually painted on panels that can be replaced as they age or are damaged, at a fraction of the cost of painting a new mural.
