Voting is underway in the Calgary-Lougheed byelection where the UCP is hoping Jason Kenney will gain a seat.

Kenney is the heavy favourite in the race in which a win will allow him to take up his role as the leader of the opposition in the legislature.

He is up against NDP candidate Phillip van der Merwe or Liberal leader David Khan.
