Time is running out for residents interested in signing up for the Water Conservation Rebate Program.

Though Okotokians have until December 1st to apply, the program is already 90% sold out since it's May 1st start time.

Town of Okotoks Communications Administrator, Melanie Heemeryck, says the program is offered to the following residents.

"The program is available for the Town of Okotoks residential property owners and renters with a maximum of $200 a household for approved water conservation purchases."

Heemeryck says for the towns best interest it's important to start being water conscience.

"Reducing water consumption is crucial for Okotoks as our communities demand for water peaks in the summer months when the Sheep River aquifer provides the least resources and moving into fall we want to continue with those conservation efforts."

To sign up for the rebate program there is an application online at the towns site or there are hard copies available at the municipal centre and the recreation centre.
