It was a night of music and talent as the Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra teamed up with the Foothills Philharmonic Chorus to bring Okotoks their Winter Gala.

The production took place at the United Church in Okotoks.

Mezzo Soprano Barbara King also joined in the festivities.

Symphony Conductor Carlos Foggin says the performance is of great calibre and has a European feel.

"We kind of amped it up this time." Foggin says "We invited local choirs and local artists which by no means, means low calibre, we actually have stunning calibre and we're performing kind of in the vain of a European New Years, or Winter Gala."

Ross Lemon the Principal Double Bassist says the fact that they're a professional orchestra playing in smaller venues it what sets them apart.

"We come out to small towns like Okotoks and deliver the music to the people of the small towns." Lemon says "It's the same quality of music and the same experience as the city and it really brings the music personally, because we're up to close to the audience instead of being upstage."

If you missed last night's performance you can catch the Symphony and their choral partners performing in Strathmore tonight at 7:30.
