Good news for market lovers...the Creamery Community Market has been approved for its second summer.

The Okotoks United Church asked for a decision as soon as possible from The Town so they could get vendors in place for the summer long event.

Bev Carlson, director of the market says past vendors were chomping at the bit to join again.

"This year I actually had three vendor inquiries prior to the announcement even being made and since the approval has been made public I've had six more vendors contact me about it. So things are already rolling and we are anticipating a really good season."

Last year the market was home to many vendors that sold everything from fresh produce and baked goods to jewellery and clothing.

Carlson says the market really picked up fast last summer from word of mouth so this year looks very promising as well.

"We really look forward to it being even busier. If this is any indication so far, the interest that's in it from vendors than I suspect that we might be full, we have a maximum number of 41 vendors for the location so I wouldn't be surprised if we reach upwards of those numbers this year."

All in all Carlson says her and her team can't wait for the 2017 season.

"We're really looking forward to it, we've got a whole team of volunteers again that had so much fun last time and are pretty excited for this year. And we are pretty excited to have it next door to us, its going to be a lot of fun."

The market kicks off on June 11th, two weeks earlier than the previous year and will wrap up September 24th.
