As the summer is about to wrap-up, the time to register for fall programs is coming up.

The Town of Okotoks will be hosting its Fall Parade of Programs Wednesday night.

Recreation Programmer for Adult Programs Sarah Jessup says signing up early for fall programs can mean the difference between getting in or being left out in the dark.

"It is a great opportunity to get a head start on registration for a lot of these programs," she says. "Some of them are new to the town and it's a chance to come out and promote themselves for the first time. Most organizations will taking registrations at that time and then others you can register online or past that date as well."

The event runs from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Jessup says the parade helps decide what program is best for you.

"It is a great opportunity for different organizations and groups throughout town to showcase the great community programs they have available," she says. "So families and different community members can come and check out what's available in the community and see what they would be interested in participating in this year."

Jessup says the opportunities to try new things is endless in Okotoks with the array of programs they have.

"From music to martial arts programs and dance and tumbling to other sport organizations as well as different families resources as well," she says. "A lot of different programs and organizations have come out to participate and so we have something for the whole family."
