Foodies are celebrating all things edible tonight in Bragg Creek, as Taste of Bragg Creek gets underway!

The rural hamlet, is not all hiking, biking and ski trails, they have a hidden food scene that waits to be discovered as well.

Taste of Bragg Creek event organizer, Mackenzie Walsh says they're celebrating local foods with worldly variety.

"There are no chain restaurants in Bragg Creek.  Everything out here is usually locally sourced, with a lot of fresh ingredients.  There is also something different, every where you go and people are really noticing that we have a completely unique food scene out in Bragg Creek."

There will be 25 vendors showing off their culinary prowess inside the Bragg Creek Community Centre, not to mention the others sampling out of their actual store fronts.

Walsh says, start at the Community Centre, then everything else is within walking distance.

"So we're encouraging people to park at the Bragg Creek Community Centre, there they will have free entry into the centre.  They can also purchase tasting tickets which are $1.50 per ticket." Walsh adds "Each merchant will decide what to charge for their samples, but they'll be around 1 - 5 tickets usually."

If you're tempted to try some of Bragg Creek's hidden gems, the event kicks off at 5 P.M, and runs until 9 P.M.

Walsh says, to ensure you get the best variety, get there early!
