If you've lived around the Foothills for any length of time, chances are you've been to an event at the Flare N' Derrick in Turner Valley.

If you have, then you know the old girl is getting a little long in the tooth.

The Town has been talking for years about replacing it, but have yet to come up with a feasible plan.

In the meantime, they're hoping some grant money from the Crescent Point Community Foundation will help with some of the maintenance.

Mayor Kelly Tuck says they're going to replace the building, it's the when that's up in the air.

"The 10 year, 20 year plan is, how does it work for the community? And is that the right site for it? Is it something that can be done between the MD, Turner Valley and Black Diamond? Is it making it better and bigger? I don't know. But I do know that we need to move forward with an understanding that she needs some work."

Tuck says the money they get will be used for some new paint and some washroom repairs and upgrades.
