Employees are happy but employers, not so much.

Alberta's general minimum wage goes up from $10.20 to $11.20 per hour Thursday, while the liquor server wage goes from $9.20 to $10.70.

It'll be combined with the general wage next year.

The NDP government pledges to get to a $15 minimum wage by 2018.

Saskatchewan's minimum wage is increasing by 30 cents to $10.50 while Manitoba workers see a 30 cent jump to $11 an hour.

The increase will affect about 38,000 Albertans.
