The Okotoks Foodbank is getting some love from a local business.

Denny's was at Taste of Okotoks over the weekend to fundraise for the non profit for the second time this year, Anurag Sharma General Manager Denny's, says they also presented the food bank with a cheque for what the restaurant raised during the parade.

"This year we have partnered with the Okotoks Food Bank for Taste of Okotoks. This is our second initiative with them, last month we were at the Okotoks Parade and we set up a food counter which raised $510 for the Okotoks Food Bank, which is the reason for the cheque we are giving them today."

All proceeds from either cash donations, or food sold by Denny's at the festival will go to the Okotoks Food Bank, Sharma says he's happy to partner with such an important organization.

"I did not realize that so many people are in need of the help, so it's always good to partner with the food bank, and our patrons appreciate we are partnering with a cause like this as well."

Executive Director of the Okotoks Food Bank, Sheila Hughes says the support the organization receives from local businesses is second to none.

"I can't believe how lucky we are to have businesses approach us and ask to help and support us in any way they can. Denny's has been fantastic, this is the second event they've supported us at and it's wonderful. We can't believe how well cared for we are in the community."

If you're looking to help out the food bank, Hughes says they're looking for donations of rice, sugar, snacks, canned soup, and canned fruit.
