The Eamon's gas station being restored at the High River Rodeo Grounds has a long history, and a local author wants to tell that story.

Kimberley Langford is in the early stages of writing a book about the building, and says research of libraries, museums and media can only get her so far.

The old Eamon's gas station is slowly being restored out at the High River Rodeo Grounds.

She says she'll need to talk to people who share a history with the building.

"I'm going to send out media releases in the New Year, across Canada, requesting people who have memories of the garage, and of the bungalows and the restaurant to write me with their memories and hopefully send some photographs too."

The team working to restore the 1940's era gas station that sat on what used to be the Trans-Canada Highway, but is now the 1-A near Cochrane, hope to have it open to the public by summer.
