Okotoks Michela Sheedy is one of the top ten finalists at this year's Nashville North Star Competition.

This is Sheedy's second year in the competition but she says that the difference between this year and last year is the fact that she is the wild card spot this year.

Adding that the wild card spot is the performer who received the most votes during the online period.

"This year I decided to push really hard and secure my spot in the top ten."

The top ten artists will each perform one song in the tent during the first Saturday of Stampede.

From that first performance by the top ten the contestants will then be compressed down to the top six.

"The top six will each perform two songs, and from there first second and third place will be awarded," Sheedy says.

Sheedy says that the support she has gotten to be a part of this competition has been amazing and she is extremely thankful.

Adding that she is blessed to even have the opportunity to be apart of the competition.

"It is incredible performing to 2,500 people crammed into a tent, and having known so many amazing artists have crossed that stage before me."
