In just under a week the Town of Okotoks Finance and Budget Committee will be presented with information regarding the 2018 Operating and Capital Project Budget.

On Wednesday Nov. 15, and Thursday, Nov. 16, the Committee will hear plans for the 2018 Budget from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Council Chambers.

Cathy Duplessis, Legislative and Policy Services Manager, says all information shared with the Committee will be reviewed with a close eye.

"From this Finance and Budget Committee meeting there will be recommendations that come forward to Council to review as a whole."

All Budget meetings next week will be open to the public, Duplessis encourages the public to be involved and listen to the discussions the Committee has during deliberations.

"We always encourage our public to come and listen to the budget deliberations and decisions that have to be made, based on the scarce resources that are our budget dollars in comparison with service level demand, and what's desirable in town."

Information from the Finance and Budget Committee meeting will be posted online, residents who have any questions or concerns with the review are able to address council once the budget comes forward on Dec. 11.

"The budget will be coming forward in December, at the only council meeting in December. There's always an opportunity for the public to come to a council meeting at the 3 p.m. Public Delegation period and ask questions and talk to council."

The Finance and Budget Committee has also set a tentative budget meeting date for Friday Nov. 17, depending on how long the review of the 2018 Budget package takes.
