The 2nd Annual Okotoks Lemonade Day put a bow on a successful run of young entrepreneurs trying things out in the business world Thursday night.

Cimarron Park was full of participants from last weekend's event as members of the Lemonade Day committee handed out awards from best rookie to the best stand.

Coordinator Ralph Tollens says with an increase in the number of vendors from the inaugural
Lemonade Day the event is only going to get bigger.

"It was awesome once again the kids did a phenomenal job, they came out and participated, the community came out to support them," he says. "We wanted to work on increasing the awareness this time around for the community side to just boost their level of knowledge."

Tollens says he's already heard interest from many that plans have already started on stands for the 3rd Annual Lemonade Day.

"A good portion of them are planning on continuing a business this summer whether it's a lemonade stand or some other enterprise. Most of them are saying they want to come back next year, there are some that are saying they're not sure which is fair as well. We got into most schools this year so I think lemonade day so I think it will just continue to increase."

Sour Face Lemonade lead by the Gustafson family took home the honour of 'Best Business' while 'Best Looking' stand went to Riley and Lauryn Wheaton and the best 1st year stand went to Cera, Elizabeth and Emilee Hayhurst.

Tollens says there's more than just making lemonade as kids have been taught about marketing and creativity to make their stands even more successful and leaving an impact on the community.

"Kids are actually deciding what's a good location, they're coming up what themes they want to be whether it would be Charlie Brown and Lucy's lemonade and the fact that they dressed the parts and that takes some creativity. They had a presentation on marketing themes and they took that to heart."
