Local Foothills businesses are going Disneyland this week.

The Alberta Chamber of Commerce will be holding a special one of a kind event in Okotoks on Tuesday.

The Disney Institute's Approach To Quality Service Seminar will be running out of the Centennial Centre all day

Senior Program Director of the Disney Institute Bruce Jones says what the seminar will teach is customer service techniques that can be utilized right away in any kind of business.

"We're going to share method not magic," he says. "We take the approach to our guest experience, our customer experience very seriously. We've worked on it for a number years so what we're going to share are lessons learned over 60 plus in theme parks business so that you don't have to."

Jones says one of the featured presentations during the seminar will be on how to change the common stereotype of customer service, doesn't matter what business and find ways to make it better.

"We're going to talk about how to disrupt that stereotype, how to stand it on it's ear and actually give you the opportunity to differentiate from other organizations that might be similar and really examine that in detail in how to take typical service and make exceed expectations on a regular basis."

Jones says whether your business is big or small, a non-profit organization or in the public sector. You can benefit from what the seminar has to offer.

"We want you to think differently, we want you to come prepared, be open minded and able to not get hung up on the fact that we may not be in the theme park business when somebody arrives but you know what? Let's think about the similarities and let's think about these principles that we can apply in our organizations."

Jones also says at the end of the day if you don't have good customer service, business will be tough.

"It's one of the things that you can own and you can be famous for and you can differentiate from other companies that may be similar to you."
