Okotoks Culture and Heritage is looking to keep those in need warm this winter.

The Tree of Warmth is set up at the Okotoks Art Gallery and is looking to be decorated in new toques, scarves, socks, and mittens.

Allan Boss, culture and heritage manager for the Town, says the donations go to a few charities.

"The three charities we donate to are the Magic of Christmas, Healthy Moms Healthy Babies, and the Southern Alberta Brain Injury Society and the people who get these items are just so happy to have them."

Boss says it's great to be able to give back.

"It's all about giving at this time of year, it's all about sharing. It's a particularly difficult time financially for people in our province and if people who do have the money to be able to help and share, this is something little they can do that will help people who need it."

Donations can be dropped off at the Okotoks Art Gallery for the Tree of Warmth until Dec. 17.
