It's National Paramedic Services Week, or your chance to thank a Paramedic or EMT.

Alberta Health Services Public Education Officer Stuart Brideaux says luckily that's only a couple of mouse clicks away.

"One of the things you can do is go to thankaparamedic.com. If you've ever wanted to thank a Paramedic crew that assisted you, whether it was recently or in the distant past. One of the ways you can thank us it so go to thankaparamedic.com"

Brideaux says a lot of times being a Paramedic or EMT is a very tough, thankless job, but he says at least once a day he hears about how they've made a positive impact on someone's life.

Brodeaux says some times they do find themselves in "precarious" situations, like the one where two Paramedics and a Calgary Police Officer were injured during an incident with a patient last week on Deerfoot Trail."

He says they're kind of the hidden figures of first responders because they're dealing with patients and privacy issues they're not necessarily at the forefront like Police and Fire Fighters.
