It's officially spring time and that means for sale signs are popping up almost as fast as wildflowers.

Although, residents are wondering if the housing market will start to make a comeback this year.

Brett Murrell, local realtor, says the signs are pointing up so far!

"In 2015 we were 29 days on the market for detached homes.  In 2016, we're 60 days and now so far in 2017 we're back down to 29, so it's definitely substantial." Murrel says he thinks the positivity came from adapting to the market. "I think we're just starting to price homes, better.  So if your realtor gives you a price, try to stick fairly close to it."

Spring is commonly the busiest time to buy or sell property, Murrell shares it definitely seems that way again this year.

"Currently, it's been guns a blazin' for every realtor I've chatted with or done deals with.  They're all saying the market has been picking up.  We're starting to see houses at an affordable price, as in most of the higher end homes; you can't build them anymore, for the price they're selling for."

Murrell is predicting that this year, homes will sell faster, and more affordably.

He shares that's a good thing for potential buyers.

"Interest rates are also still nice and low, they're really aggressive so it's still a great time to be buying.  We're still seeing variable rates at prime -.5, or Prime -.6 . Even the fixed rates are fairly standard at that 2.5 plus or minus.
