The Foothills Country Hospice received a generous donation from another caring organization in the community.

100 Women Who Care presented a cheque for $2600 to help with the hospice's operations.

Founder of 100 Women Who Care Karen Love says the donation means a lot to the group giving back to the hospice.

"This is our 1st donation for 100 Women Who Care Okotoks and area and really excited to present $2600 to the Foothills Country Hospice for their Christmas program," she says.

Executive Director of the Hospice Dawn Elliot says the money from 100 Women Who Care will benefit them greatly during the holidays.

"We have a wish list and that contains a number of different item that we need for our patients and our families so we're going to chose something on our wish list and there's a good possibility it might go towards the purchase of a new bed," she says.

With the donation news of the potential purchase of a new bed, The 100 Women Who Care Founder says they'll be sure to keep the Hospice close in their hearts.

"That's why we do this," Love says. "We know that Okotoks loves to give back to the community and hope this cheque is the first of many."
