Nomination day for the High River Town Council by-election was Mon. Sept. 19.

The by-election was called to fill the vacancy left with the departure of Peter Loran in August.

So far two people have said they'll put their names forward: police committee chair Terry Coleman and former councillor Jamie Kinghorn.

Kinghorn says he's not going in with an agenda.

"It's all things the current council is working on, of course the secondary suites issue is a big issue, the downtown parking issue is very important to people, the downtown construction, all those sorts of things but it's all stuff that council is currently working on and I just want to come forward and put my voice in and hopefully work with the rest of council," Kinghorn says.

Nomination papers can be filed between 10 a.m. and noon at the Town office.
