There's everything but glass slippers for girls in Okotoks looking to feel like a princess on their graduation day, as the Cinderella Project is nearly over.

The Cinderella Project helps young girls, and boys experiencing financial pressures and hardships by providing everything from gowns, suits, and shoes for graduation ceremonies in Okotoks.

Meghan Harvey, Head of My City Care which branches out of My Victory Church says the support from the community has been overwhelming.

"It has been so exciting we're still getting dresses dropped off almost every day we've got lots of donations. I counted last night and we've got about 130 dresses, it's really exciting to see all of the small business in Okotoks really come together. We've got just over 35 local sponsors that are helping us out on the day, so it's been great to see the whole of Okotoks come together for these girls."

There has also been lots of donations for the Prince Charming Project aimed at boys, Harvey says there's tons of spots left for both boys and girls looking to have the graduation of their dreams.

"We don't have any guys at the moment but we have spots open for guys and girls to come along on the day still, We definitely have lots of spots for girls to come along, so if someone wants to recommend a girl beforehand and book an appointment that's fine or if they just want to come along on the day we're open to that too."

Harvey shares how remarkable it is to help young people celebrate what they've worked so hard for.

"Hearing some of the stories, its really heartbreaking they think they might not get get the graduation that they always had in mind. So to be able to be able to provide them with all these things is very special, its nice to show these kids that the whole of Okotoks is behind them."
